To promote youth empowerment and stimulate economic growth at the grassroots level, the Member representing Tarauni Constituency in the Kano State House of Assembly, Kabiru Dahiru Sule (ADS), has launched a vocational training program for over 100 young men and women.
The initiative, according to the Information Officer of Tarauni Local Government, Adamu Iliyasu Hotoro, is the first phase of a comprehensive empowerment scheme designed to equip youths with practical skills for self-reliance.
The training covers tailoring, perfume production, solar installation, catering, and children’s winter clothing design, among other trades.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, Alhaji Kabiru Dahiru Sule said the programme is aimed at reducing unemployment by empowering beneficiaries with relevant skills and providing them with start-up capital upon completion.
This support, he explained, will enable the trainees to establish small businesses without financial obstacles.
He reiterated his commitment to youth development, noting that empowering young people with income-generating skills will not only improve livelihoods but also promote peace, security, and social stability within Tarauni and beyond.
The lawmaker urged beneficiaries to make the most of the rare opportunity, stressing that the training serves as a stepping stone toward financial independence and community development.
In separate goodwill messages, Special Adviser on Karma Affairs, Abdullahi Sabo Abubakar; Managing Director of Farm Center, Abdulaziz Usman Mai Tarbama; and Special Assistant on Media, Auwal Baba, commended ADS for his consistent investment in youth empowerment initiatives across the constituency.
They noted that his programs continue to benefit both men and women seeking self-reliance.
Also speaking, the Director of Operations at M&B Company, Balarabe Ishaq, expressed appreciation to the lawmaker for partnering with the company to deliver the training.
He said the program will run for four months and will focus on modern and market-driven skills that reflect current economic demands.
He assured that the participants will receive quality hands-on training that will prepare them for real-life business opportunities.
