The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gada Local Government Area of Sokoto State has categorically dismissed as false, mischievous, and baseless the circulating rumours about a purported mass defection of its members to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In an official statement on Monday signed by the Executive Chairman of Gada Local Government Council, Hon. Zayyanu Barau Gada and made available to newsmen, the council described the rumours as “cheap propaganda” deliberately orchestrated to mislead the public and create an illusion of disunity within the APC.
According to the chairman, no member of the APC in Gada Local Government has defected to any political party.
He stressed that the party remains “solid, indivisible, and unwavering” in its loyalty to the progressive leadership of Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto under the guidance and mentorship of Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Sarkin Yamman Sokoto.
“The malicious reports being peddled are nothing but the handiwork of political opportunists who thrive on lies and blackmail.
They intend to create unnecessary distractions and false narratives, but they will never succeed,” the statement declared.
Hon. Zayyanu Barau reaffirmed that the people of Gada Local Government have consistently demonstrated absolute confidence in the APC, stressing that the party’s unmatched strength lies in its grassroots support and its proven commitment to service delivery, integrity, and sustainable development.
He noted that APC remains the only political party with solid, functional structures across every ward, village, and community in Gada.
He described the defection story as nothing more than a desperate fabrication meant to give false hope to opposition elements who have repeatedly failed to win the trust of the electorate.
“The APC in Gada is stronger today than ever before. No propaganda can break our bond with the people or diminish the trust they have in our leadership.
“We remain focused on consolidating the gains of democracy and delivering dividends to our constituents,” the chairman emphasized.
He further accused opposition elements of spreading misinformation because of their inability to penetrate the stronghold of the APC in Gada, insisting that no amount of political blackmail or falsehood will shake the overwhelming support the party enjoys in the area.
The chairman, therefore, urged party members and supporters to remain vigilant, united, and resolute in the face of these orchestrated distractions, assuring them that APC’s mandate in Gada remains intact, unshaken, and unchallenged.
“Our focus as a party is to sustain unity, protect our mandate, and ensure the progress and prosperity of our people in line with the vision of Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto and the leadership of our father and mentor, Senator Wamakko,” he stated.
Hon. Zayyanu Barau also called on the general public and the press to disregard what he described as “fake news and calculated lies” from desperate political opponents, maintaining that APC’s strength and dominance in Gada Local Government remain unbroken.
He expressed profound appreciation to the good people of Gada for their continued loyalty and unshakable support for the APC, pledging that the party will not relent in fulfilling its promises, sustaining peace, and advancing development in every community of the area.
