The Nigeria Police Force, through the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) Abuja, has successfully repatriated a high-profile fugitive, Mr. Dai Qisheng, to the People’s Republic of China in a landmark operation.

A statement on Sunday by the Force spokesperson, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the operation was executed in collaboration with INTERPOL NCB Beijing and the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria, highlighting the Force’s firm commitment to combating transnational organized crime.

Dai Qisheng, a notorious gang leader wanted in Guizhou Province for leading violent organized crimes, fled China in 2024 after an arrest warrant was issued by the Zhijin County Public Security Bureau.

He sought refuge in Nigeria but was tracked, surveilled, and apprehended in Abuja by operatives of INTERPOL NCB on August 8, 2025.

He was subsequently repatriated to Beijing on August 15, 2025, under established police-to-police cooperation protocols.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, reaffirmed the Force’s resolve to ensure that Nigeria never becomes a haven for fugitives.

He stressed that the successful arrest and repatriation of Qisheng sends a clear warning to criminals worldwide that Nigeria’s borders will not shield them from justice.

He further pledged the Police Force’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships through intelligence-sharing and joint operations in tackling global crime networks.
