Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has revealed that the team is yet to receive the cash rewards and housing promised by President Bola Tinubu after their historic victory at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Ajibade disclosed that the $100,000 reward and three-bedroom homes pledged to each player and member of the technical crew have not been delivered.

“We have not received our money, but hopefully it will be paid,” she said. “They have not paid all the promises. We have not received anything.”

Despite the delay, Ajibade said the players remain optimistic that the Federal Government will fulfil its commitments.

Ajibade, who led Nigeria to a record-extending 10th WAFCON title and was named Player of the Tournament, recalled President Tinubu’s praise of the team’s “indomitable spirit” following their dramatic comeback win in the final.

Down 2–0 at halftime, the Falcons roared back with goals from Esther Okoronkwo, Folashade Ijamilusi, and Jennifer Echegini to seal a 3–2 victory.

As part of the celebrations, Tinubu conferred the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) national honour on all players and technical staff, alongside the promised cash and homes.
