The Sole Administrator of Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, Barr. Franklin Ajinwo has formally performed the Ground Breaking Ceremony of the proposed Ultra-Modern 1.5 billion Civic Centre project in Okporoworo Ogbakiri.

Speaking to newsmen immediately after the groundbreaking ceremony today, Saturday, 9th July, 2025, Barr. Ajinwo highlighted that the city of Okporoworo deserves a modern edifice that will serve as a ceremonial ground for major traditional and social events, and that the project, when completed, will remain as the centre of unity, peace, and prosperity in the land

In his welcome address, HRH (Eze) Elder Egerton Alikor, the Nnyenwe Eli Okporoworo Ogbakiri, hinted, “It is with gratitude and my pleasure to welcome you all on behalf of my kingdom, Okporoworo Ogbakiri (the Zion City of Ikwerre Ethnic Nationality), on the epoch-making occasion.

It is a thing of joy that through the dynamic efforts of Okporoworo Ogbakiri Town Council, the second-tier arm of traditional governance in Okporoworo.

Once again,I wish to remind us all that the developmental strides visible in our community are our collective contributions; this has always been our strong force of love for  people.”

“We are very much aware of the economic and social pressure we face daily, but we should not relent in our efforts in pushing to the frontiers the essence of peace, love, and harmony to the economic and social well-being of our people.

“As we embark on this project today, we shall build and dedicate more houses, buy more cars, and see  more things our heart’s desire.”
