Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is seeking a presidential pardon from Donald Trump ahead of his October sentencing for prostitution-related convictions, according to his legal team.

Combs, 55, was found guilty last month by a New York jury on two counts of transportation for the purpose of engaging in prostitution.

Each charge carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for October 3.

Nicole Westmoreland, one of Combs’ attorneys, confirmed in an interview with CNN that efforts have been made to reach out to Trump for a potential pardon.

“It’s my understanding that we’ve reached out and had conversations in reference to a pardon,” she said.

However, Trump appears reluctant.

Speaking to Newsmax on Friday, the former president acknowledged knowing Combs casually in the past but noted their strained relationship since he entered politics.

“I was very friendly with him. I got along with him great and he seemed like a nice guy,” Trump said.

“I didn’t know him well, but when I ran for office, he was very hostile.”

When asked if he would consider a pardon, Trump replied, “I would say so, yeah,” indicating he is unlikely to grant it.

Combs was acquitted of more serious charges, including racketeering and sex trafficking, following a high-profile trial that involved multiple allegations of abuse.
