On Tuesday, the Chairman of Tarauni Local Government, Ahmed Ibrahim Muhammad Sekure, conducted an on-site inspection of a major drainage channel behind Gadon Sarki in Unguwar Gano Ward, following residents’ complaints over persistent flooding during the rainy season.
According to the council’s Information Officer, Adamu Iliya Hotoro, the visit was prompted by concerns about stagnant rainwater leading to road damage and posing health and safety risks to the community.
Speaking during the visit, Chairman Sekure assured residents that the local government will formally notify the Kano State Ministry of Environment to request immediate repairs and ensure proper water flow to protect lives and property.
He also urged residents to cooperate with government officials during the repair process, stressing that community support is key to the success and timely completion of the project.
