The Kano State Hospitals Management Board has announced an open call for the recruitment of medical doctors, as part of efforts to improve healthcare delivery across the state.
In an official notice dated July 25, 2025, and signed by Dr. Aisha Bello Dambatta, Director of Medical Services on behalf of the Executive Secretary, the board invited all qualified doctors with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree to apply for positions as medical officers.

The memo, addressed to all Chief Medical and Zonal Directors within the board, emphasized the government’s renewed commitment to strengthening the health sector and boosting service delivery.
According to the notice, the recruitment exercise is open to doctors who have been inducted by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), including those who trained abroad but have successfully completed the required assessments and obtained their MDCN certification.
“All interested doctors… are hereby advised to apply as medical officers to the board headquarters for job recruitment,” the statement read.
The development signals Kano State’s commitment to addressing the shortage of healthcare professionals in its public hospitals and improving access to quality healthcare services across the state.
