Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has called on all good people of the state to vote for All Progressive Congress (APC) candidates in the forthcoming October Local Government Council Polls.
The Governor called while speaking at the flagging off of the APC State Chapter Campaign for the elections.
He said the Local Government Elections is one of the critical components of democracy in Nigeria.
Namadi assured that his government is committed to conducting a peaceful election to strengthen democratic development in the state.
He told the mammoth gathering of the APC faithful in the ancient city of Hadejia for the flagging off of the party Zonal campaign that APC had in the last 9 years delivered a dividend of democracy to every Community in the state.
“You all bear witness to our commitment to improve the social and economic life of Jigawa state people through the execution of various projects and programs under our 12-point agenda, therefore voting for APC candidates at all the 27 local government areas will help us in our collective effort toward making Jigawa state Great.
“I called on all good people of Jigawa state to vote for our party candidates as we have confidence in their loyalty patriotism, transparency, and commitment to serving the state and humanity according to our party philosophy and our 12-point agenda,” Governor Namadi stated.
In his speech, the state party chairman Hon Aminu Sani Gumel charged party members to go to every village, town, city, and house to campaign for the party candidates as they have all the evidence to show the positive impacts of APC government in transforming Jigawa state in all soil and economic ramifications.
“We have confidence that Jigawa people will overwhelmingly vote for our candidates, but since it is part of the democratic tradition to go out for campaign during the election period, so let us uphold the tradition and use it as a time to meet and greet with all people of the state” Gumel stated.
On his side, the Commissioner of State Ministry for Local Government, Hon. Muhammad Maikudi MK, assured the Jigawa state people that, APC will continue to work for them and their children’s betterment, therefore they shall reaffirm their confidence in the party by voting for all its candidates.
During the flagging off, flags were presented to the party flag bearers from the 9 local government areas of the Jigawa Northwest senatorial zone.
