Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has joined President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Governors, Ministers, and other top dignitaries for the burial of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a statement released by the Governor’s spokesperson, Mustapha Muhammad, Governor Yusuf described Buhari’s death as “shocking and sad,” calling him a patriotic and compassionate leader whose legacy of discipline, integrity, and national service will be remembered.
“Former President Buhari was a towering figure whose life embodied discipline, integrity, and unwavering love for Nigeria.
“I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family, the government and people of Katsina State, and indeed all Nigerians mourning his loss,” Governor Yusuf said.
Thousands of mourners, including current and former ministers, political allies like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, attended the funeral.
Governor Yusuf prayed for Allah’s mercy and forgiveness for the late president and urged his family to find strength in this moment of grief.
