The Kano State Government has approved Sunday, 15 September 2024, as the new resumption date for all boarding public/private primary and post-primary schools in the state for the start of the 2024/2025 first-term academic session.

The new resumption date for pupils and students in day schools across the state is Monday, 16 September 2024.

It could be recalled that on Saturday, 7 September, the State Commissioner of Education, Umar Haruna Doguwa, announced the postponement of the school resumption date.

On Thursday, a statement by the Director of Public Enlightenment of the State Ministry of Education, Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru urges parents/guardians to take note of the new resumption date to ensure complete compliance.

According to the statement, students should avoid bringing illegal items to school, such as knives or razors, and obey the law.

The statement reiterated the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s commitment to ensuring that every child has access to a quality education.

“The government is taking positive steps toward creating a conducive learning environment that will inspire and empower our students to excel academically.”

However, the statement urges people of the state to continue cooperating with the ministry, assuring them that the government is taking all necessary steps to ensure an effective teaching and learning environment.

It wished students, pupils, and their teachers a successful new academic year, stating that the ministry would conduct routine monitoring to ensure staff punctuality and efficiency.
