Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Comrade Waiya, who was recently appointed as the Grand Patron of the Gauta Club, noted that the selection of the patrons was based on merit, integrity, and commitment to the development of Kano State, irrespective of political affiliation or ideological differences.

According to the Commissioner, “This initiative is guided purely by the love for Kano. We deliberately selected distinguished individuals from diverse backgrounds without considering party lines, because the focus is on progress and unity, not politics.”

He charged the patrons to remain loyal and committed to the ideals of the Gauta Club.

Comrade Waiya further emphasized that the move aligns with the broader vision of sanitizing political engagement in Kano State by discouraging hate speech, political bitterness, and abusive language, particularly in media discourse.

He clarified that the formation of the patrons’ committee is not in any way targeted at stifling opposition, but rather, to strengthen inclusive and respectful political dialogue.
