The Plateau State House of Assembly has elected Naanlong Daniel as speaker following the resignation of Gabriel Dewan at plenary on Wednesday.
Daniel, the member representing Mikang State Constituency, was nominated by Naanbol Listic of Langtang North central and seconded by Abdul Yanga of Mangu North-East.
The new speaker was thereafter received by governor Caleb Mutfwang, who urged him to continue the legislative cooperation with the executive.
