Kano State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has felicitated with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for receiving the marvelous Award of Media Most Supportive Governor by its parent body.
In a statement jointly signed by Interim Chairman Comrade Mustapha Gambo Muhammad and Secretary Abubakar Shehu Kwaru, the Council noted that the presentation of the prestigious award came as no surprise.
They emphasized that Governor Yusuf had previously received numerous honours from various organizations in recognition of his exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to public service.
According to the Council, the Governor has consistently demonstrated visionary leadership, setting a high standard in both socio-economic and political spheres since assuming office.
The State Council of NUJ described Kano as the only state in the federation where the opposition was being accorded access to express their views over private and public media organizations without intimidation, unlike what obtained in other parts, given the exceptional qualities of the Governor.
Besides that, the statement congratulated the NUJ under Comrade Alahsan Yahya and his predecessors right from 1955 to date for attaining seven decades in championing the heavy cause of ensuring fairness, equity, justice, orderliness, shaping and reshaping of Democratic ideals reign supreme in the art of governance.
The Union fervently hoped that comrades in the pen Industry would always adhere to the laid-down principles and methods in observing their duties to become second to none among their peers amid the larger community.
