Kogi Deputy Governor Commends Security Agencies for Safe Release of 16 Kidnapped Victims

Kogi State Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Salifu, has commended the Nigeria Army and other security agencies for their bravery in securing the safe release of 16 kidnapping victims, including three pastors, in Ejule, Ofu Local Government Area.

A statement the spokesperson to the Deputy Governor, Mr. Unubi Emmanuel, said the security personnel swiftly responded to the kidnapping incident, conducting a thorough search that lasted two nights before locating the victims in a forest.

According to the statement, a two-hour gun duel ensued, forcing the kidnappers to flee with injuries, leaving the victims unharmed.

Comrade Salifu praised Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s efforts in providing adequate security, stating that Kogi State is not a haven for criminals under his administration.

He highlighted the governor’s intolerance for security breaches and his commitment to protecting lives and properties.

This achievement is a sign that the state government is committed to security, which includes the establishment of a Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Abejukolo and a Patrol Base in Bagana to strengthen the state’s security architecture.
