75-year-old Female Pilgrim From Edo Died in Saudi Arabia

Mrs Danzumi Adizatu, a 75-year-old female pilgrim from Edo State, has died in Saudi Arabia after a brief illness.

Adizatu, from the Jattu community in the Uzairue clan, Etsako West Local Government Area, died on Monday, 26 May 2025, at King Fahad General Hospital in Makkah in Saudi Arabia.

Mallam Musah Muhammad Uduimoh, the Edo State chairman of the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, confirmed this in a WhatsApp voice note to the deceased family.

Uduimoh relayed the news of her death to the family on Tuesday, 27 May 2025.

He said the late Mrs Adizatu was hospitalized on Sunday, 25 May 22025, after (Tawaaf) following a short illness and died the next day.

“Mrs Adizatu was buried in Makkah on the evening of the same day she passed away according to Islamic rites,

“The chairman of the board has since contacted her family in Jattu Uzairue to inform them of the tragic development,” he said.
