Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to youth development, pledging sustained investment in programs that empower young people as key drivers of the state’s progress.

The governor made these remarks during the 2025 International Youth Day celebration held at the Banquet Hall of the Dutse Government House.

Governor Namadi emphasized the critical role of youth development, stating that his administration remains dedicated to investing in young people, as the future of the state depends on them.

“Our commitment is evident in our 12-Point Agenda, which prioritizes youth development through massive investments in education, skills training, empowerment, and mentorship over the past two years,” he said.

“Under the 12-Point Agenda, youth development has been given special priority, with all relevant ministries directed to introduce innovations that will help Jigawa’s youth unlock their full potential.”

These initiatives, he noted, are designed to prepare young people to become competent future leaders.

The governor also promised to review all recommendations from the youth and prioritize their implementation, stating:

“Citizen input is crucial for realistic budgeting and policymaking. We will analyze all suggestions from this event and act accordingly.”

In his remarks, the State Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture, Hon. Sagir Musa, highlighted the significance of the celebration in addressing the challenges facing youth development.

He urged young people to recognize their responsibilities, prepare for leadership roles, and uphold societal values to earn respect.

The event, organized by the State Ministry of Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture, brought together youth groups, civil society organizations, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

The celebration featured a colorful program with innovative approaches to youth engagement, including panel discussions, policy dialogues, and narratives on youth development and societal progress.

Discussions centered on the social lives of young people, their challenges, and opportunities for building an ideal society
