Why Jigawa is Peaceful – Emir of Dutse

Dutse Emirate of Jigawa state through Community Conflict Resolution Committees (Zauren Sulhu) resolves over 3,000 civil conflicts monthly.

The Emir of Dutse, Dr Nuhu Muhammad Sanusi revealed this while informing the Federal Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Muhammad on ‘Why Jigawa is most peaceful state in Nigeria.

He said the timely intervention through traditional mechanism in which individuals, family or community misunderstanding are reported in the emirate contributed in avoiding unnecessary litigation and promotes peace and unity among the people.

Dr Nuhu Sunusi added that, the state council of chiefs has strong synergy with government and Security agencies which makes communities in the state to be security conscious and proactive in reporting any suspicious movement to nearest authority and also avoid taking laws in to their hands.

He however described the various agricultural intervention and Social Security Programs by Jigawa state and federal government as another mechanism that, created Jobs and make people busy which consequently reduce domestic violence and other criminal activities in the state.

In his speech during his courtesy visit to Dutse palace, the Hon Minister of Information, Alhaji LaI Muhammad commended the traditional institute in the state for working toward ensuing peace and development in the state and Nigeria.

“Having visited the Emir’s palace, I have now come to understand why Jigawa state remains the most peaceful state in Nigeria.”

The Minister informed the Emir that he was in the state as part of his one-day official visit to the state during which he inspected to tallest Nigerian Flagg erected at Ma’am ALU Farm in Birninkudu local government area of the state.
