Wamakko Receives 2023 IAASAN Ambassador, North West Anti-Narcotics Award

Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, (Sarkin Yamman Sokoto,) has been nominated as the 2023 award recipient by a non-governmental organization, ‘Initiative against Addiction and Substance Abuse in Nigeria (IAASAN)’.

According to a statement made available to journalists in Sokoto by a Special Adviser to the Senator on Media and Public Affairs, Bashar Sarkin Hausawa, the Chairman Board of Trustees of the organization and the Etsu Nupe Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, who signed the nomination letter said the organization decided to bestow the award to Sen. Wamakko and the IAASAN Ambassador for North West Anti-drug Award 2023 following a random public survey conducted by the field officers of the organization.

He said the Etsu Nupe further explained that Sen. Wamakko was recognized for his outstanding performance to humanity and philanthropic endeavours which were in tandem with the organization’s mandate and objectives.

The award ceremony, according to the letter is scheduled to hold during the forthcoming IAASAN – Nigerian Army North-West Anti-drug and Narcotics Control Conference 2023 on the 9th and 10th of May, 2023 at Lt. Gen. T.Y Burutai Hall, Giginya Barracks, Sokoto.

The organization, however, congratulated the former Governor of Sokoto State, Sen. Wamakko for the award and wished him all the best in the discharge of his service to humanity.
