The Governing Council of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS) has approved the dismissal of its staff member, Malam Garba Ahmed, over his alleged involvement in the illegal upload of unqualified students for the National Youth Service Corps mobilisation.
In a statement, the Director Information and Rublic Relations of the University, Ismaila Mohammed Yauri, said the decision was taken at the council’s 176th meeting held on April 1, 2026.
According to the statement, the staff member, prior to his dismissal, worked in the Registry Department and was found guilty of gross misconduct.
The statement added that, “his dismissal takes effect from the date of Council’s decision”
It also stressed that the institution maintains zero tolerance policy for acts of serious misconduct, warning that anyone found culpable would face appropriate disciplinary action.
