News Desk

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the immediate swap of pro-chancellors and chairmen of the governing councils at two federal universities.

A statement issued on Wednesday by the special adviser to the president on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, who previously served as the Pro-Chancellor of Federal University, Lokoja, has been reassigned to Federal University, Oye-Ekiti.

Meanwhile, Engineer Kayode Ojo, formerly holding the same position at Oye-Ekiti, will now take on the role at Lokoja.

The reshuffle, according to the statement, underscores President Tinubu’s commitment to fostering balanced representation and effective management in Nigeria’s tertiary education sector.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the immediate swap of the Pro-Chancellors and Chairmen of the Governing Councils for the Federal University Oye-Ekiti and Federal University Lokoja.

“In this reshuffling, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, SAN, currently serving as the Pro-Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja, will take over at Federal University Oye-Ekiti.

“Engineer Kayode Ojo, who previously held a similar position at Oye-Ekiti, will assume the role in Lokoja.

“This strategic change is part of President Tinubu’s initiative to foster diversity and national cohesion in the management of the country’s universities”, the statement said.

The leadership adjustments at the two institutions are expected to promote collaborative growth and reflect the administration’s broader efforts to strengthen governance in federal universities.
