The 1994 South African Performance By Whitney Houston Will Be Adapted Into A Concert Film

This fall, theaters will screen Whitney Houston’s monumental concert in South Africa, which was organized in the wake of President Nelson Mandela’s historic election.

Houston’s 1994 concert has been transformed into a fully remastered theatrical release titled “The Concert for a New South Africa (Durban),” according to a statement released on Tuesday by Sony Music Entertainment, Trafalgar Releasing, Houston’s estate, and other partners.

The late singer’s never-before-released act from Durban, South Africa, will be featured in the limited theatrical screening that opens on October 23. The initiative will precede the publication of “The Concert for a New South Africa (Durban),” a new live CD, on November 8.
