Sokoto State Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Barrister Nasiru Dantsoho has said that Aminu Waziri Senator Tambuwal allocated plots of land to himself, his Wife, and his kinsmen at choice locations a few days before he handed over to present Governor, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto.

Barrister Dantsoho made the allegation in a statement while briefing journalists on the one-year scorecard of Governor Aliyu held on Saturday at the National Union of Journalists Secretariat, Sokoto State Council.

He alleged that Tambuwal at the tail end of his administration allocated hundreds of plots haphazardly to friends, Aides, and political associates in the new Sokoto city without due process and consideration of the state land allocation laws and policy.

“The state government through the state ministry of lands and housing will critically study all the allocations made by the immediate past administration of Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and those found to be made after the conclusion of the 2023 gubernatorial election will be revoked and return same to the state government,” he declared.

Dantsoho cited Kontagora road in the state capital where he alleged Tambuwal grabbed hundreds of hecters of land belonging to the state government.

“How can you allocate yourself plots when you know fully that you lost the election and you’re in the process of handing over to a successor who is not of the same political camp as you?” Dantsoho asked.

“Tambuwal told the Ministry of Lands and Housing that he purchased lands for development in Kaduna.

“I went to Kaduna shortly after assumption of office to see plots said to be purchased by former governor Tambuwal and found out that it’s only a gimmick statement made by the former Governor as no payment was made for the purchase of alleged plots.
