France legend Emmanuel Petit has warned Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior to stop passing notes to the players.

Petit, in a chat with talkSPORT, found the tactic embarrassing, while suggesting the approach makes the manager look foolish rather than proactive.

“The way he’s acting, his body language on the bench, the way he’s always trying to write things down on the paper then giving it to his players, I mean… come on.

“They (the players) don’t get it, it was the case 20 years ago as well, we don’t get it so don’t do that, we’re not stupid, we’re not kids so just try to behave in the right way.

“I don’t know if you’ve seen the image in the last game where they lost 3-0 to Everton, I saw that game and after the third goal he tries to make a substitution and he writes something down.

“He turned very quickly to his players who were about to come on the pitch and shown him something on a piece of paper but if you have a quick look at the player behind him, the way they look at the manager tells me a lot.”
