The move to establish an independent Hisba group in Kano State has been withdrawn and suspended, according to Baffa Babba Dan Agundi.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by Baffa Babba Dan Agundi, following a stakeholders’ meeting drawn from the 44 local government areas of Kano State, held on Tuesday, 16th December, at the Tinubu Campaign Office.
The statement explained that the decision came in response to the widespread public outcry that followed the attempt to establish an independent Hisba group, as well as the intervention of key stakeholders, including the Kano State Government, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the former Executive Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, all in the interest of peace and stability.
It further revealed that the meeting resolved to suspend the establishment of the Independent Hisba Fisabilillah, in order to allow the Kano State Government to address the issues through dialogue and amicable means.
The statement also emphasized the stakeholders’ commitment to respect constituted authority and their resolve to cooperate fully with security agencies to maintain law and order, ensuring the safety and stability of Kano State and the country at large.
