SOZECOM Distributes Relief Materials to IDPs, Hospital Patients

Sokoto State Zakkat and Endowment Commission (SOZECOM) has distributed assorted grains to over three hundred Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), scattered across the state capital and its environs.

Those who benefited from the gesture, were those forced to leave their homes by insecurity and currently taking shelters at different areas in the state metropolis that includes Ramen kura,Tudun wada, Guiwa low cost, Guiwa eka as well as More and Sabaru areas respectively.

The Executive Chairman of SOZECOM, Malam Lawal Muhammad Maidoki Sadaukin Sakkwato who spoke through his representative and leader of the distribution committee and also the Director Waqafi of the Commission, Malam Jaɓɓi Ibrahim Illela Dabore, explained that the assistance was a donation by a business philanthropist, who was recently appointed as the Executive Chairman of the State Schoolaship Board, Alhaji Murtala Abdulkadir (Dan iyan Jarman Sokoto).

According to Lawal Maidoki (Sadaukin Sokoto), it was part of his commitment to the service of the poor and less privileged in the state.

The SOZECOM Chairman expressed gratitude to Dan iya and prayed to Almighty Allah to reward him abundantly.

He used the medium to call on other wealthy individuals and corporate bodies to emulate him by rendering such assistance to people in need especially the IDPs, adding that no doubt such gesture will put smiles on the faces of those facing hardship in the society.

In addition to 50 bags of grains, Alh. Murtala Abdulkadir also donated over 50 packages of drugs for onward distribution to patients in hospitals across the state.

The beneficiaries thanked the donor Abdulkadir Dan iya and the chairman of the commission Malam Lawal Muhammad Maidoki (Sadaukin Sakkwato) for the humanitarian gesture.

The distribution exercise was witnessed by the directors and staff of the commission.
