SOSG Grants More Powers to Marshals, Resuscitates Printing Press

Sokoto State Government is to grant More Powers to Sokoto Marshals Agency to arrest and prosecute traffic offenders and as well revitalize the state Ailing Government Printing press which for years has not been functioning effectively.

The state Commissioner for home Affairs, Alhaji Abdullahi Yusuf Hausawa disclosed this while speaking to our correspondent in Sokoto.

He said state would recruit fresh graduates and inject them in to the system with a view to make the Agency more vibrant to carryout it’s operation effectively. 

The Commissioner further said all what it takes to make Sokoto Marshals Agency would be made available to conform to its sister agencies across the country.

He said by do doing more revenue would be generated to the government through arrest and fines of road traffic violators within and outside the state capital.

In another development the commissioner told journalists that, the state printing and publishing company would be updated and given facelift to be able to carry out all printing and publishing jobs.

According to Hausawa, the state government would henceforth print all sensitive documents at the Printing press for safety and security of official documents.

He said explained that when, the company commence full operation it would largely reduce state government huge expenditure on printing of budget and other essential documents that hitherto fall in wrong hands.

“Ministries and MDAs should be asked to take the opportunity of the printing press for optimum security of government official documents and enhanced revenue generation of the state.” Hausawa averred.
