The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has taken a commanding lead in the Anambra State governorship election, winning 19 out of the 21 local government areas announced so far.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) resumed collation of results at its headquarters in Awka, the state capital, with officials confirming that the process will continue until all 21 local governments are declared.

According to figures released so far, APGA has secured 389,789 votes, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) trails with 91,592 votes. The Labour Party (LP) follows with 10,366, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has 1,230 votes.

Soludo’s strong performance places him in a comfortable position as counting nears completion, heightening expectations that he may secure a second term as governor if the current trend continues.
