Shettima Says Kano LP Guber Candidate Pledges to Support APC

-As VP candidate donates N30m to N-SIP School Feeding Food Vendors

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Vice Presidential Candidate, Sen. Kashim Shettima has announced that the Labour Party (LP) Gubernatorial Candidate in Kano State, Engr. Bashir Ishak Bashir alongside his running-mate and other candidates of the party has resolved to support the APC during the upcoming 2023 general election.

A statement on Monday by the Chief Press Secretary, Deputy Governor’s Office Kano State, Hassan Musa Fagge the APC Vice Presidential candidate made the remarks on Sunday during a meeting with the National Social Investment Programme (N-SIP) school feeding food vendors held at the Sani Abacha Sports Complex, Kofar Mata, Kano.

Shettima said: “The Labour Party Gubernatorial Candidate vows to support the APC to win the election having realized that it is the party that meant well and will advance the yearnings and as well as the aspirations of Kano people.

“That is why he (Engr. Bashir) and other stalwarts of the Labour Party accompanied me to this occasion to show that they have decided to ensure the victory of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna as Governor of Kano State and other candidates of the APC at all levels he said.”

According to the statement, Sen. Shettima while appreciating the dedication of the food vendors towards the success of the school feeding program further call on them to make massive mobilization for women’s participation in order to ensure the victory of the APC in the 2023 general elections.

He then announced the donation of 30 million Naira only to the school feeding food vendors.

The Deputy Governor and APC Gubernatorial Candidate Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna commended the Federal Government for the school feeding program, noting that since its commencement in 2016, it has improved a lot.

He pointed out that Kano State Government is training the food vendors on hygienic ways of cooking food for the pupils.

The State Focal Person of N-SIP, Baba Aminu Zubair said over two hundred thousand Kano indigenes benefitted from the various programs of the scheme out of which twelve thousand, two hundred and fifty-eight were food vendors.

He explained that four thousand, seven hundred and twenty-one schools were selected for the program; each vendor is given fifty-seven thousand, six hundred every month as a feeding allowance.

The Minister of State for Works and Housing, Alh. Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub, Secretary to the Kano State Government Alh. Usman Alhaji, the Labour Party Gubernatorial Candidate Engr. Bashir Ishak Bashir and other State Government officials attended the occasion.
