Kano state government has donated N6 million to the Spinal Cord Injuries Association of Nigeria (SCIAN) to commemorate the 2024 International Spinal Cord Injuries Day.

The donation was made through the Commissioner Ministry of Women, Children and Disables, Aisha Lawal Saji.

Apart from cash donations, Hon. Saji also tendered 20 Wheelchairs, dressing materials, 50 packs of diapers, cartoons of urine bags, condom catheters, and fowel catheters of different sizes to organize the SCI day.

The Commissioner also reassured the government’s commitment to the plight of persons with spinal cord injuries.

Chairman of SCIAN, Mallam Abdulrahman Uba Daushe, who received the donations commended the state government’s effort toward the entire persons with disabilities and particularly the spinal cord cluster.

Spinal Cord Injury Day (SCI Day) is a powerful day that reminds the challenges faced by individuals living with spinal cord injuries and also provides a good opportunity to emphasize commitment to its prevention.
