Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah will leave the club at the conclusion of the 2025/26 season, bringing an end to a remarkable nine-year spell at Anfield.
According to Sky, the Egyptian international reached an agreement with the club to make his departure public early, in order to provide clarity for supporters.
In a statement, Liverpool said: “Salah expressed his wish to make this announcement to the supporters at the earliest possible opportunity to provide transparency about his future due to his respect and gratitude for them.”
In a video message shared on X, Salah addressed fans directly: “Hello everyone. Unfortunately, the day has come. This is the first part of my farewell. I will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.”
Reflecting on his time at the club, Salah added: “I could never have imagined how deeply this club, this city, these people would become part of my life.”
Salah’s departure will mark the end of an era for Liverpool, with the forward having played a central role in the team’s successes under Jürgen Klopp, including the Premier League and Champions League triumphs. His farewell message signals the beginning of a final chapter in his storied career at Anfield.
