Former Real Madrid midfielder Luis Milla has attributed ‘Los Blancos’ current problems to their inability to find a perfect replacement for Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.
In a chat with AS, Milla stated that he’s not convinced by Fede Valverde and believes Real need to go out in the market this summer find something special.
“Those we have now have their own characteristics and perform their roles very well, but I do believe we need a player who understands what the team needs at any given moment,” said Milla, who played over 200 games for Real Madrid between 1990 and 1997.
“Whether it’s a direct pass, a horizontal one, a more vertical one… Someone who sees the first attacking option and knows how to control the tempo of the game.
“Since (Toni) Kroos and (Luka) Modric left, it seems that this type of player is needed, but not just any player. Someone like the German or the Croatian, or Vitinha at PSG, Pedri, (Martin) Zubimendi…”
