Protest in Osogbo Over Alleged Shooting of Park Manager

News Desk

Aggrieved members of the Osun State Transport Management System (OSTMS) in Osogbo are protesting the alleged shooting of Wakeel Nurudeen Alowonle, the Chairman of Osun State Transport Management System.

He was alleged to have been shot by operatives of the Osun Police Command Anti-Kidnapping Squad on Monday night.

The Nation reported that Alowonle was arrested by the police on Monday night for being in possession of a police pistol and ammunition.

However Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, on Tuesday, raised the alarm over the alleged shooting of Alowonle to near death in police custody over a domestic matter.

The expressway at Aregbe Park has been blocked by the protesters, disrupting free flow of traffic.

The police were yet to release a statement as of the time of filing this report.
