Police Maintain Alertness in Kano Following Supreme Court Judgment

The Kano State Police Command says it has taken proactive measures to enhance security deployment following the Supreme Court judgment on the Kano governorship election.

 In a recent operational briefing held on Friday, at the Command’s Headquarters, the Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, charged operational commanders to maintain alertness and coordinate effectively with other security agencies.

The operational briefing, attended by relevant heads of security agencies, aimed at reviewing the security situation and reinforcing identified locations.

It also served to align intelligence efforts and streamline strategic coordination to bolster security measures in anticipation of the critical Supreme Court decision.

CP Gumel emphasized the commitment of the Kano State Police Command to safeguarding public safety and maintaining law and order during this period of heightened tension.

The briefing showcased the Command’s dedication to preemptively addressing potential security challenges and ensuring a robust and coordinated response to any eventualities.

During the briefing, the Commissioner of Police underscored the importance of officers maintaining alertness and remaining resolute in their mandate to uphold the rule of law.

The officers were charged with providing a safe and secure environment for all residents in the state.

In an address to the public, CP Gumel urged citizens to remain calm and continue with their lawful activities.

He assured the public that the Kano State Police Command, in collaboration with the military and other security agencies, is steadfast in its commitment to preserving peace and security throughout this critical period.

The Commissioner of Police expressed appreciation for the understanding and support of the peace-loving people of Kano State. He further encouraged the public to report any suspicious movements, individuals, or items to the nearest police station or through various emergency contact numbers provided by the Kano State Police Command.
