The People Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa has flagged off its gubernatorial campaign with a promise to change the state misfortune caused by APC’s bad governance if elected in 2023.

The party flagged off its campaign in Dutse, the state capital with the presentation of flags to its candidates contesting various positions in the Jigawa Southwest senatorial zone.

In his speech, the State Party Chairman Hon Ali Diginsa accused APC of pushing the state people into abject poverty, social crisis, and other untold hardship as a result of poor Governance in the last seven years.

He added that, since it came to power in the nation and state in 2015, APC introduced many anti-human policies which reduced the purchasing power and living standard of the Jigawa people and described the development as very unfortunate and unaccompanied.

“We are all aware of the increase of poverty, child malnutrition, hunger, and high cost of living militating our people now,  we promised you if PDP came back to power it will do everything possible to bring back all the good you know in the past,” Diginsa stated

Speaking at the occasion, the state PDP gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Mustapha Sule Lamido said, if elected he will give priority to empowerment and job creation to tackle the high rate of poverty in the state.

Lamido added that he has a comprehensive plan for reviving the state civil service, health, education, and other critical sectors of public service which are now in sorry condition.

He however promised to improve the state infrastructure for enhancing the social and economic development of the state.
