‘Our Administration Will Continue to Support Orphans, Vulnerable Children’ – Zainab Nasir

Wife of the Kebbi State Governor Hajia Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris has assured all orphans and vulnerable children in the state that this administration will continue to support them to live better lives and become future leaders of this country.

Nasare, who revealed that she was usually moved by the plight of orphans and vulnerable children in society, gave the assurance today when she paid a visit to the school of people living with special needs as well as hosted the orphans for lunch at the presidential banquet hall as part of her activities marking Nigeria Independence day Anniversary in the State.

The wife of the Kebbi Governor, in the company of wives of the deputy governor, the Wife of the SSG, Commissioners for Women Affairs, Commissioner for education, wives of the Honorable Members of the State House of Assembly, and the wives of top government functionaries maintained that this administration would continue to give all the necessary support to the orphanage, and people living with disability in the state.

She explained that the reason she showed special interest in these children was to support them to become better citizens and future leaders of society.

“I want to tell you that you may be orphans but you are not orphans because we are with you and will always provide all that you need. I will ensure the present administration under the leadership of Governor Nasir Idris continues to provide your needs so that you do not miss out on anything that will warrant you all to feel the impact of not having your parents,” she said.

She therefore promised that henceforth, all orphans and vulnerable children in the state should consider the State Governor and his wife as their God-given parents.

However the wife of the governor also celebrated with students at the state school of people living with special needs, while urging the students to pay more attention to their education and the various skills they are learning, she promised to support them with startup packs in other for them to be self-reliance as soon as they graduates.

The Governor also paid a similar visit to the Correctional Center 8n the state, where she urged the inmates to turn a new leaf.

She prays to God Almighty to prepare each and every one of them through the religion of Islam so that they can be of benefit to themselves, their parents, and to society at large.

 She assured that all their requests would be looked into and ensured that the State Governor gave them all the necessary attention required.

Speaking earlier in his welcome remarks, the DCC Abubakar Ladan gave a brief history of the progress they have made in rehabilitating some of the inmates through various skills and the challenges they are facing.

Highlights of the two visits were the presentation of food items, toiletries, clothing materials, books, school kits, medical first aid, and cash in other to improve their welfare.
