The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) has elected new executives to lead its chapters in Kirikasamma, Malam Madori, and Birniwa Local Government Areas of Jigawa State following the expiration of the previous tenure.
Those elected include Haruna M. Mamman (Kirikasamma), Aminu Tafida (Malam Madori), and Ibrahim Maigari (Birniwa).
The elections, monitored by state NULGE representatives, Comrades Aleru Suleman, Docas Garba, and Ibrahim Muazu Maigatari, were described as peaceful and credible.
In total, nine executive members, including female representatives, were chosen through delegate votes from different local government departments.
Speaking on behalf of the new executives, the elected chairmen pledged to pursue positive reforms and prioritize the welfare of workers across their local governments.
Council Chairmen of the respective LGAs, Salisu Sani Garun-Gabas (Malam Madori), Muhammad Maji Wakili Marma (Kirikasamma), and Shehu Baba (Birniwa), congratulated the new NULGE leaders.
They urged them to inspire workers toward discipline, dedication, and consistent attendance, stressing that a committed workforce is crucial to advancing Governor Umar Namadi’s 12-point development agenda.
