The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has announced the arrest of 20 foreign nationals in the Danbare area of Kumbotso Local Government Area.
State Commandant, Mohammed Hassan Agalama, disclosed this during a press briefing on Tuesday, stating that the suspects were apprehended following credible intelligence and a coordinated operation by operatives of the corps.
According to him, the individuals, who are from Sudan, Chad, and other neighbouring countries, were unable to provide valid travel or identification documents at the time of their arrest, raising concerns about their entry into the state and their activities.
He added that items recovered from the suspects include ten Android mobile phones.
The commandant said the corps has commenced profiling and detailed investigations to determine the suspects’ mission and any possible links to unlawful activities.
He noted that relevant security and government agencies have been notified, while further actions are being taken in accordance with existing laws.
Agalama reaffirmed the NSCDC’s commitment to protecting critical national assets and ensuring internal security across Kano State.
He also called on members of the public to remain vigilant and continue to support security agencies by providing timely and useful information.
The NSCDC said further updates would be provided as investigations progress.
