Troops of the Joint Task Force, Tudun Wada, have arrested a 55-year-old suspected kidnapper during an operation in Sumana village, Kano State.

In a statement on Tuesday, Capt. Babatunde Zubairu, Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, said the suspect was apprehended on April 20 and paraded before Brig.-Gen. Ahmed Tukur, who commended the troops for their bravery.

Recovered items included a fabricated AK-47 rifle, a Dane gun, ammunition, camouflage uniforms, and a motorcycle seat suspected of concealing weapons.

Tukur reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to collaborating with local authorities to ensure security, calling the operation a milestone in fighting criminal elements.

“We remain dedicated to safeguarding lives and bringing criminals to justice,” he said.
