Five days after Inaugurating a new State Executive Council, Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has relieved all of his 30 Special Advisers of their duties.
The governor announced the sack yesterday at the maiden executive council meeting with the new commissioners at the government house.
The decision to sack the Special Advisers, according to a statement made available to journalists in Minna yesterday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, “is to enable him(governor) rejig their portfolios.
“The termination of their appointments was to allow him to reposition their portfolios with the view to making them more effective and efficient in line with his New Niger Agenda.”
