NGO Donates Prosthetics Aids to 2000 PWDs in Kebbi

No fewer than 2000 People with Disabilities (PWDs) have benefited from the distribution of prosthetics aids in Kebbi State.

The distribution flag-off took place on Thursday at the premises of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.

Delivery her speech, the Wife of the Kebbi State Governor, Hajiya Aisha Bagudu said that the program which is an annual event was aimed to reduce the suffering of the less privileged and make them to be self-employed.

She applauded her husband Governor Bagudu for supporting the orphans in the State and ensuring that they have a sense of belonging in performing their normal responsibilities.

“I pray and urge you not to sale all these items, government gave you this to support you and stop you people from street begging,” she warn.

Hajiya Aisha Bagudu promised to continue assisting the less privileged people through her NGO program even after the end of their administration.

She then admonishes the people of Kebbi state to always respect their leaders as is the best way to achieve good things and make the state develop.

In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs, Hajiya Aisha Maikurata thanked the Kebbi State Governor and his wife for enormous contributions towards uplifting the lives of the PWDs.

She said: “Your support most especially on the Alimajari school program has made a significant difference in the rural areas as you have added value to their lives and reduced insecurity bedeviling in some parts of the state.”

Maikurata who emphasis that the wife of the Governor program has made parents to enrolled and sponsor their children who were out of school to be enrolled.

She also called on the beneficiaries to use the items judiciously and not to sell them for their selfish interest as the government is ready to provide them with all the necessary tools that will reduce their suffering.

The items distributed are wheelchairs, tricycles, sticks, and motorcycles.
