The Emir of Dutse. His Highness. Na’eem Muhammad Nuhu Sanusi has turbaned Nasiru Haladu Danu as 2nd Sardaunan Dutse and Mr. Adokiye Ikpoki as 1st Sodangin Dutse.
The Emir promoted Dano from Dan’amanar Dutse to Sardaunan Dutse following the death of former Sardaunan Dutse, Bello Maitama Yusuf who held the title for over 30 years.
The turbaning of the philanthropy, successful businessman, politician, and nationalist, Danu held at the ancient seat of Dutse Emirate palace in the capital city Garu area.
In his remarks, the Emir said the promotion of Dan’amana to one of the most exalted traditional titles Sardaunan Dutse was in recognition of his commitment to the peace, unity, and development of Dutse Emirate, Jigawa state, and Nigeria.
“We confer this title on you based on merit, over the years you proved to be a good son, a good ambassador of the emirate, a man with the spirit of national patriotism and Service to humanity, we hope the new title will serve as a call for more selfless service.
“However, for Mr. Adokiye Ikpoki, an indigene of Rivers State, a successful businessman with links all over the nation and beyond, we confer this title to you based on your historical contribution and support to national unity and economic development.
“We expect you to youth the title in promoting mutual understanding between the people of South-South and Dutse Emirate as well as Norther at large for peace and progress of the nation,” the emir stated.
In his remarks shortly after the turbaning ceremony, Danu (Sardaunan Dutse) promised to do more for the progress of the Emirate and Nigeria at large.
“I accepted this title as a call for more selfless service and promised to hold the title with its glory and responsibility.
“I will do everything possible to repose the confidence that Dutse Emirate and all well-wishers have in me, Insha Allah, the Sardaunan declared.
The dignitaries who attended the turbaning ceremony included, Vice President Kashim Shatima, former president Muhammad Buhari, Jigawa state Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, Minister of Aviation Hon Festus Kiyamo, former Minister of Works and Transport, Hon Rotimi Amaechi, former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Tukur Buratai (Rtd), Ex-EFCC Boss, Ibrahim Magu.
Also in attendance, was the emir of Daura His Highness, Umar Faruk Umar, Emir of Lafiya, and His Justice Muhammad Sidi Bagi among other politicians, and traditional leaders.
