Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany has disclosed that Jamal Musiala will be back in action for the club in January.
Musiala suffered a broken left leg and ankle dislocation in Bayern’s Club World Cup quarter-final loss to Paris Saint-Germain but continues to make excellent progress on the road to playing competitive football again.
Musiala also completed his first light training session with the team on Monday, an important step after his long injury break.
In a chat with the club’s website, Kompany stated that will return in January.
“Jamal is close,” he said. “Hopefully next week. But I want to be very clear: zero pressure on Jamal and the medical department. Hopefully he can get in a few training sessions before Christmas.
“That would simply feel good – for the team and for him. And then his first minutes on the pitch should follow in January. That would be an ideal plan for us.”
