Kano State Ministry for Public Procurement, Project Monitoring and Evaluation (MPPPME) has inspected 11 ongoing and completed developmental projects across Minjibir, Gezawa, and Gabasawa Local Government Areas, with the 5-kilometre Minjibir road confirmed to be nearing commissioning.

The inspection, conducted on Monday, was led by the Commissioner, Comrade Nura Ma’aji Sumaila, as part of the ministry’s routine project monitoring activities.

The exercise aimed to assess the quality, completion status, and value-for-money of government-funded projects, in line with the development agenda of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

It also sought to ensure compliance with project specifications, timelines, and budgetary allocations.

The 5km Minjibir road was highlighted as a major infrastructure intervention designed to improve mobility, stimulate local economic activities, and enhance access to essential social services.

A team of engineers accompanying the Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the quality of work, noting that the road only awaits official commissioning following final finishing works and certification.

In Gabasawa, the 5km road project has reached 75% completion, with framing and asphalt overlay work scheduled to begin soon.

The ministry also inspected ongoing construction of Neighbourhood Security Watch Division facilities across the three local government areas. Contractors assured that all outstanding works would be completed within three weeks, following the recent inauguration of security personnel.

Comrade Sumaila reiterated the state government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and effective monitoring of public projects, emphasizing that regular inspections are critical to ensuring projects deliver tangible benefits to residents.

Residents across the three local governments lauded the state government for the developments, particularly the road projects and Security Watch Division facilities, describing them as long-awaited initiatives that will ease transportation challenges and strengthen local security.

Other projects inspected included the first and second phases of the Kwankwasiyya Gida-Gida classroom blocks across the local government areas.

The inspection forms part of the ministry’s broader mandate to track project implementation statewide, ensuring all development initiatives align with strategic planning goals and deliver sustainable benefits to local communities.
