MOBA Set ’96 celebrates 25 years of graduation

25 years after graduation from the prestigious Government College, Makurdi (GCM) in Benue State, set ’96 of the school, under the auspices of Makurdi Old Boys Association (MOBA) is set to mark its silver jubilee anniversary.

In a statement issued by Class President, Sesughter Iorhagher, the activities of the event will commence on Thursday, October 28, 2021 with the arrival of set members from different parts of the country.

The statement maintained that there will be a General Assembly with students at the Assembly Ground, GCM, Juma’t prayers at the Central Mosque, Makurdi and a novelty football match between the School Team and Class of Pride on Friday, October 29, while the main event will hold on Saturday, October 30 at GCM Auditorium by 11:00am, followed by a thanksgiving service on October 31 at St Francis Catholic Church, Nyiekaa, Owners Occupier Quarters, Makurdi.

It stated that Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state is billed to grace the event as the Special Guest of Honour while the Medical Director, New Boshang Hospital, Yola, Adamawa, Dr Fidelis Bitrus Chagwa, will be the Chairman of the day with Mrs Bridget Ati, former French Teacher, GCM as Chairlady.

The statement further said the event will have the MOBA National President, Dr Mahmoud Adamu as Host, while Principal Enterprises Development Officer, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), Oyiman Alu is the Guest Speaker.
