Kano State Government has declared Friday, 12 September 2025, which corresponds to 19th Rabi’ul Awwal 1447 AH, as a public holiday in commemoration of the Maulud celebration, the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
Announcing the decision, the state government in a statement signed by the Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, urged civil servants, private sector workers, and the general public to observe the day in peace and in line with the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
It also encouraged citizens to reflect on values such as unity, tolerance, and obedience to lawful authority during the celebration.
Furthermore, residents were called upon to use the occasion to offer special prayers for peace, prosperity, and the overall development of Kano State and Nigeria.
The government extended its felicitations to the people of Kano and wished them a peaceful and memorable Maulud celebration.
