MATAN Celebrates One-year Anniversary, Honours Prominent Stakeholders in Kebbi

Market Traders Association of Nigeria (MATAN) Kebbi State chapter has marked its one-year anniversary by honoring prominent stakeholders.

Those honored by the association include All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship candidate in the forthcoming coming 2023, Dr. Nasir Idris, Secretary to the Kebbi State Government, Head of Service (HoS), Alhaji Sofiyanu Garba Bena, Permanent Secretaries of Ministries of Budget and that of Commercial among others for their contribution to the progress of the association.

While speaking at the program, the Kebbi state Chairman of MATAN, Alhaji Ismail Abubakar Usman Kamba, commended the state government for giving the association 5 million Naira from which their members benefited.

He also stressed that Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah gave them 2 million Naira to boost their commercial activities.

Kamba described the state government as the friend of traders whose policies have been elevating their members and developing the economic activities of the State.

He appealed to the state government to provide more opportunities for their members in terms of loans, donations and empowerment in order to further boost the commercial activities of the state.

Earlier, the APC Governorship candidate in Kebbi state, Dr. Nasir Idris who commended the association for encouraging women in business promised them that if elected come 2023 general elections, he would give them more support and empowerment.

 In his remark, Secretary to the Kebbi State Government, Alhaji Umar Babale Yauri, represented by the Acting Head of Service (HoS), Alhaji Sofiyanu Garba Bena promised the association that the state government would continue to support them.
