Newcastle United defender Dan Burn has warned that the players will be provoked if the club allows Alexander Isak to join another Premier League side.
The Swedish striker, who has been heavily linked to joining Liverpool this summer, refused to travel with the squad to Singapore for the preseason to push for the move to Liverpool.
The Premier League champions previously communicated a willingness to do a deal in the region of £120 million ($162m). As Newcastle was adamant he was not for sale, no formal bid was ever submitted, and a move for Hugo Ekitike was completed instead.
Speaking with Sky Sports, the England international stated that he hoped the club wouldn’t sell Isak again.
“It’s a question for Alex to answer,” said the center-back, who made his England debut in March. “He’s obviously a big player for us, but we do have a lot of quality in the squad as well. Bringing Anthony (Elanga) in as well, which I think was a great signing.
“If we lose any player, it would upset our tight-knit group that’s been together two or three years now.
“From our point of view, we just have to control what we can control in the moment.”
