The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won all the chairmanship seats in the local government elections conducted in Nasarawa State and Cross River State on Saturday.
In Nasarawa, the ruling party was declared the winner of the chairmanship poll in all 13 local governments of the state.
The chairman of the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC), Ayuba Wandai, declared the results at the headquarters of the electoral commission in Lafia.
According to him, for the 147 councillorship seats, the APC won in 140 wards, while the Social Democratic Party (SDP) won in 5 wards and the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) in 2 wards.
In Cross River, however, the APC emerged victorious in all the 18 local government chairmanship positions and 196 councillorship seats.
The results were officially announced on Sunday at the State Independent Electoral Commission (CROSIEC) by the Chairman, Ekong Bocco.
Immediately after the announcement, the elected women and 15 men were presented with certificates of return.
