The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) sweeps the Saturday Chairmanship and Councillorship local government council election in Adamawa state.
Announcing the outcome of the results in his office, the Chairman of the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), Mohammad Umar, said the PDP has won all the chairmanship positions with only a few councilors to other opposition parties.
There were 18 political parties registered, 12 earlier to participate but only three parties participated in the state while others boycotted the poll which included the opposition parties like All Progressives Congress, Peoples Redemption Party, African Democratic Congress, and Labour Party in the 13th July 2024 poll.
The ADSIEC Chairman said the PDP has won all the 21 chairmanship seats and 225 councillorship seats in the state and that the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) won one councillorship seat in the Demsa local government area.
ADSIEC also presented certificates of return to the winners of the election on July 13th election.
